Taxi rips off tourists at Tan Son Nhat airport impersonating Saigontourist brand

"Saigontourist taxi company is not a unit of Saigontourist Group, but this unit has repeatedly deliberately used the Saigontourist brand, causing confusion, seriously affecting the reputation and brand image of Saigontourist Group. We have been strengthening legal measures to resolve the serious violation of intellectual property rights, which has negatively affected the group's brand and made it difficult for customers to access Saigontourist Group's services," said a representative of Saigontourist Group's leadership.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper, yesterday, March 14, a driver of Saigontourist taxi company (under Saigontourist Transport Joint Stock Company) collected a fare of 1.2 million VND while the meter showed 120,000 VND when taking a Japanese tourist from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to a hotel in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

The incident caused public outrage and was immediately investigated, inspected and handled by Tan Son Nhat Airport Border Police, Airport Security and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport Inspectorate on March 14, 2023.
