On April 27, the missile cruiser Varyag of the Russian Pacific Fleet, along with the tanker Pechenga and the rescue tug Fotiy Krylov, led by Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Yurevich Ulyanenko and a crew of 642 sailors, docked at Cam Ranh International Port (Khanh Hoa), beginning a visit that will last until May 1.
The Varyag cruiser has a standard displacement of 9,800 tons, is 186.4 m long, 20.8 m wide, 8.4 m high, and has a maximum speed of 32 nautical miles/hour.
On the afternoon of April 27, the Russian naval delegation visited the memorial monument to Soviet/Russian and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives for peace and stability in the region in Cam Ranh and paid a courtesy visit to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province.
During their visit to Cam Ranh, Russian officers and sailors will participate in cultural and sports exchanges with Naval Region 4 and Cam Ranh International Port.
