Kien Giang investigates and solves many cases that attract public attention

According to the report of the Standing Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, in 2024, Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province will do a good job of propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws related to crime prevention and control, social evils with diverse and rich contents and forms, suitable for each locality and subject.

Kien Giang has organized more than 28,000 propaganda sessions for more than 840,000 people on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, methods and tricks of various types of crime to raise awareness, vigilance against all types of crime, and strict compliance with the law; published more than 1,900 news, articles, reports, and columns; distributed more than 44,500 leaflets on crime prevention and control, and law violations; more than 400 forums to listen to people's opinions, with nearly 25,000 participants.

The groups were awarded certificates of merit at the conference.

The functional sector of Kien Giang province focused on investigating and solving many cases that attracted public attention. Typically, within 24 hours, they quickly investigated, solved, and arrested 9 subjects who committed murder and caused public disorder in Kien Luong district.

Breaking up a case of illegal gambling on the internet by selling lottery tickets, prosecuting 8 subjects in Kien Giang province and neighboring provinces, with transaction amounts of hundreds of millions of dong.

Breaking up a special case, prosecuting and arresting 21 subjects for protection, extortion, intentional injury, disturbing public order, organizing gambling, and organizing illegal drug use operating in coastal districts and cities from An Minh to Kien Luong.

Reducing crimes related to social order; the rate of investigation and solving cases is high (reaching 90.41%). Thereby, contributing to maintaining national security, ensuring social order and safety, effectively serving the task of socio-economic development in Kien Giang province.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province Lam Minh Thanh assessed that in 2024, with the drastic participation of the political system, crime prevention and control work was well implemented, ensuring political security and social order, creating stability for socio-economic development.

Based on the assessment of the achieved results and limitations, comrade Lam Minh Thanh requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to lead and direct the serious implementation of resolutions and directives of the Central Government and provincial directions on ensuring security, order, prevention and combating all types of crimes and violations of the law.

Focus on leading and directing to improve the effectiveness of crime prevention. Promote and expand effective crime prevention and control models at the grassroots level. Stably resolve cases related to disputes, complaints, and conflicts, especially regarding land, forest land, mineral resources, water surface, sea surface, etc.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang Province Lam Minh Thanh requested the Party Committee and authorities to pay attention to leading and directing the functional forces to strengthen the work of grasping and accurately forecasting the situation; ensuring security and safety for holidays and major events of the year. Promoting administrative reform; continuing to effectively implement Project No. 06/CP of the Government.

Improve the effectiveness of coordination at all levels and sectors in the fight against crime. Improve the effectiveness of international cooperation in crime prevention, especially close coordination with Cambodian functional forces in crime prevention, arrest of wanted criminals.
