At the conference, delegates listened to Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong inform about the overview of the socio-economic situation in 2023; forecast the situation and socio-economic development plan for 2024.

In 2023, Vietnam's socio-economic situation will maintain a positive trend, the macro economy will be stable, inflation will be under control, major balances will be ensured, many important results in various fields will achieve the set goals and continue to be a bright spot in the economy in the region and the world. In the whole year of 2023, GDP will increase by 5.05% compared to the previous year. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production in 2023 will continue to be a solid pillar of the economy.

2024 is a year of acceleration and breakthrough, of special significance in successfully implementing the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021 - 2025. The Government's target for the year is a GDP growth rate of 6 - 6.5%.
