(PLVN) - To achieve the goal of welcoming 18 million tourists from now until the end of the year, the Vietnamese tourism industry is actively developing and offering attractive tourism products to attract people to visit and explore, especially at this time, when autumn is coming to many provinces and cities across the country.

Create unique experiences

Vietnam is entering autumn, a time with many beautiful tourist destinations and attractive festivals. For example, Hanoi is actively promoting, aiming to turn "Hanoi autumn" into a tourist product attracting domestic and foreign visitors. Recently, in the walking street space of Hoan Kiem Lake and some tourist destinations in Hanoi, the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024 with the theme "Hanoi Autumn - Historic Autumn" is taking place.

The Hanoi Autumn Festival includes many unique contents with the participation of nearly 100 booths of tourism units, businesses, airlines and tourism promotion booths of 12 provinces and cities, including: Dien Bien, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Son La, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa... and the People's Committees of districts and towns in the city participating in the response. At the festival, there are cultural and creative spaces for visitors to take photos, such as: The welcome gate model recreating the image of Hanoi filled with a forest of flags and flowers welcoming the victorious army back, the model of "Hanoi Flagpole", "Hang Co Station - Historical Train", "Quan Chuong Gate", "Garden of Light"; miniatures introducing attractive tourist destinations in the fall, such as: Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi Old Quarter, ...

The tourism industry in provinces and localities continues to exploit tourism products based on the traditional cultural foundation of the nation. Many provinces and cities have begun to include folk games in their tours. According to statistics, among tourists to the Red River Delta who have participated in or watched folk games and performances, up to 65% of international visitors said they have participated or watched; while domestic visitors only had 46%. Dr. Truong Sy Vinh - Deputy Director of the Institute for Tourism Development Research (Vietnam National Administration of Tourism) stated that promoting intangible heritage values is a major orientation in developing Vietnam's tourism. However, in many regions across the country, including the Red River Delta, in the midst of a unique cultural treasure, the exploitation of cultural values associated with tourism is still weak, undiversified, and ineffective.

In particular, to stimulate tourism after Typhoon Yagi, many localities have integrated many meaningful tours. For example, in the past time, the number of tourists to Lao Cai province has decreased sharply compared to the time before the storm. Tours in September were almost completely canceled, causing revenue to decrease by about 80% compared to the same period in 2023. Estimated losses in the tourism sector are up to 15 billion VND.

Applying technology to enhance tourism

In addition to creating unique and attractive tourism products, the Vietnamese tourism industry is actively applying technology to meet customer needs. Last September, HorecFex Vietnam 2024 took place in Da Nang City, an event to promote innovation and growth for the Vietnamese tourism and service business community.

Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee will introduce advanced Robot models applied in the tourism and hotel industry. Typically, the technology Robot model, designed and programmed with an eye-catching appearance and smart features, will take on the role of welcoming and guiding guests. In addition, there are also some smart delivery robots that can directly deliver food to the door and answer questions with the clearest answers.

In particular, the event also introduced a series of information technology application solutions to support customers in finding suitable accommodation, restaurants, and eateries. At the same time, through smart applications, the tourism industry in provinces and localities in Vietnam will easily access new tourism trends in the world.

A technology currently applied by many tourist destinations is 3D technology, augmented reality to provide visual experiences for visitors. Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong - Head of Tourism Information and Technology Department (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism) said that tourism events such as Tourism Festival, Ao Dai Festival, Ho Chi Minh City River Festival... have attracted millions of visitors directly and indirectly interacting through technology platforms. Technology applications that the tourism industry and the Department of Tourism are implementing such as 3D maps, 360-degree maps at nearly 100 destinations help visitors interact intelligently.

Finally, tourist destinations in Vietnam have been promoting the application of digital technology in promoting tourism products in many diverse forms, including: establishing websites, applying social networking sites Zalo, Facebook for promotion, so that domestic and foreign tourists can know.
