Increase information on social media platforms

For press agencies in Vietnam, interaction with social networks is done through: Fanpage on Facebook, channel on YouTube, Zalo Official Account on Zalo, TikTok... Therefore, the urgent problem for press agencies is how to put their produced content on social networking platforms to reach readers. Lao Cai Newspaper is no exception.

From 2022, continuing to implement the policy of building Lao Cai Newspaper into a modern press agency, multimedia communication, multi-platform to meet current press trends, the Editorial Board has implemented a plan to improve the quality of content and form of Lao Cai electronic newspaper with the orientation of enhancing multimedia works; applying software to innovate the way of expression; staging news, articles, photos, videos... to post information on social networking platforms.

In particular, along with the development of electronic newspapers, Lao Cai Newspaper also attaches importance to new platforms. The newspaper is very interested in building information pages on social networking platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Zalo... to create more press products of Lao Cai Newspaper to serve the propaganda of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to all classes of people in the province, domestically and internationally.

Currently, Lao Cai Newspaper has 2 fanpages on Facebook, 2 TikTok channels, 1 Zalo account, 1 YouTube account with hundreds of thousands of followers. These information channels help diversify propaganda forms, vividly reflecting patriotic emulation movements in localities in the province; along with that, promoting the beautiful land and people of Lao Cai to attract audiences, listeners, readers interested in following Lao Cai Newspaper in particular and attracting tourists to Lao Cai in general.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Editor-in-Chief of Lao Cai Newspaper, putting Lao Cai Newspaper's products on social networking platforms is a way to release the newspaper's products to readers at home and abroad. Through practical implementation, the information pages on Lao Cai Newspaper's social networking platforms operate quite effectively, comply with legal regulations; and properly implement the principles and purposes...

In the coming time, Lao Cai Newspaper will continue to produce many specialized products for each page and information channel suitable for each group of readers and listeners; have plans to connect social networking information pages on the main interface of Lao Cai electronic newspaper to diversify readers' access to Lao Cai Newspaper's media products. The information channels will closely follow current issues in the province, in the country, and the world (natural disasters, security, order, events of interest to many people...), update news; provide quick information, initial information on current issues. Along with that, regularly post media products to fight against wrong views in cyberspace, guide and orient information to protect the Party's ideological foundation.

In order for Lao Cai Newspaper's products to be posted on social media platforms to ensure quality and attract readers, the organization of production and distribution is scientifically and methodically consulted and built to ensure that they meet the trends of the times. In the past 2 years, Lao Cai Newspaper has regularly opened training courses, invited lecturers from the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, training centers of the Vietnam Journalists Association and a number of major central press agencies to teach, discuss, and improve awareness as well as the capacity to produce press products according to modern trends.

In addition, Lao Cai Newspaper invests in specialized equipment, machinery and software to support reporters in producing multimedia works and live broadcasting (cameras, live TV equipment on Lao Cai electronic newspaper, equipment for live streaming, flycam...).

Diversifying information methods on social networking platforms is an important task, helping to promote and spread Lao Cai Newspaper's products to a wide range of readers, contributing to the good work of propaganda and information orientation - in line with the role of the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, the government and the people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province.
