From September 26-30, a working delegation of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) led by Minister Nguyen Manh Hung visited and worked with partners in the Russian Federation to exploit the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the field of ICT.

At the working session with the Minister of Digital Development and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the two sides shared experiences in building policies for digital infrastructure development, digital innovation, training and development of digital human resources to better serve the needs of people and society. The two sides agreed to regularly organize programs connecting universities and businesses to exchange information and exploit cooperation potential in this field.

Regarding skills training and support for businesses of the two countries to cooperate, at the working session with the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the two sides shared about trade and investment promotion programs, initiatives to enhance exchanges between businesses and specialized universities to improve the effectiveness of training digital human resources.

Regarding local digital transformation and smart urban development, the delegation had a working session with city leaders and relevant departments and agencies of Saint Petersburg. The two sides exchanged experiences in building and effectively implementing digital transformation projects, building digital platforms and virtual assistants to improve the quality of public services, and promoting local digital government.

During the working program, the delegation had working sessions with Kaspersky, a leading information security company, and visited Saint Petersburg University of Communications (SUT). SUT is the leading university in the Russian Federation in telecommunications, information technology and innovation. During the working session, SUT and Vietnam's Post and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating a basis for enhancing cooperation in implementing research and development projects and exchanging students and lecturers.

Previously, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and the delegation offered flowers in memory of President Ho Chi Minh at his monument in Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation.

Visiting the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a talk with representatives of Vietnamese students and businesses in the Russian Federation. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung informed about the situation, policies, and development orientations of Vietnam, discussed and answered questions about studying and starting a business, and encouraged businesses and students to make more efforts to improve their qualifications, develop their careers, and contribute to the friendly relations between the two countries.

The working trip to the Russian Federation of Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung opened up the potential for cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the field of information and communications, creating conditions to promote cooperation between agencies, organizations, businesses and universities of the two countries, contributing to consolidating and further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
