Strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Hanoi City and Dien Bien Province

At the meeting, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee informed the results of the implementation of political tasks in the first quarter of 2024 of Dien Bien province: The economy continued to grow and develop, the basic socio-economic indicators all met and exceeded the plan; GRDP is estimated to increase by 6.07% over the same period last year. At the same time, they summarized the results of socio-economic development cooperation between Dien Bien province and Hanoi city on: Coordinating and promoting investment promotion activities, trade promotion, exploiting the potential advantages of the two localities; cooperation in development of culture, tourism; health care, education; employment and social security.

Dien Bien province hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of Hanoi City according to the Conclusion Notice No. 2273-TB/TU dated October 25, 2019 of the Hanoi Party Committee and propose some cooperation contents in the coming time. In particular, focusing on 4 main contents: Hanoi City continues to introduce favorable locations in districts, towns, and distribution channels to support Dien Bien in organizing investment promotion activities, introducing and exploiting the potential and advantages of Dien Bien in agricultural products, safe product supply chains, etc. Having mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for enterprises operating in the agricultural sector of Dien Bien province to access the Hanoi market; continue to promote the characteristics and strengths of culture and community tourism, contributing to preserving, promoting and honoring the national cultural identity to serve the development of culture and tourism of Dien Bien province; Pay attention to supporting and sponsoring some medical equipment for Dien Bien Health sector to help medical facilities perform better medical examination and treatment for people; support resources to implement social security programs, poverty reduction, and invest in public works.

Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the working session with the delegation of Hanoi City.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tuan congratulated the results of implementing the tasks of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of Dien Bien province. At the same time, he announced the outstanding results in socio-economic development of Hanoi in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. Hanoi City agreed on the view that the two localities will continue to strengthen comprehensive cooperation in socio-economic development.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council agreed on the contents of socio-economic development cooperation between Hanoi and Dien Bien province.

Regarding the proposals of Dien Bien province, Hanoi City basically agrees with the motto of "effective and practical implementation, based on sentiment and responsibility". The Hanoi Party Committee assigned the Hanoi People's Committee to prepare detailed lists of cooperation in all fields for the two localities to coordinate implementation. It is expected that in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee will organize a meeting to evaluate and summarize 5 years of implementing the Conclusion Notice No. 2273-TB/TU dated October 25, 2019 of the Hanoi Party Committee on development cooperation between Dien Bien province and Hanoi City.
