Strengthening the control and treatment of water pollution

Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong has just signed and issued a plan to implement Directive No. 02/CT-TTg, dated January 24, 2025 of the Prime Minister on urgent solutions to strengthen the control and treatment of water pollution in some river basins in Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, by December 31, 2025, the province strives to have 92% of industrial parks and 60% of industrial clusters in the area with centralized wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure operating in accordance with environmental technical standards; 100% of craft villages generating production wastewater have centralized wastewater collection and treatment plans, 50% of wastewater from craft villages is collected and treated; 30% of urban domestic wastewater is collected and treated; 40% of rural domestic wastewater is treated by appropriate centralized or decentralized measures.

The purpose of the plan is to organize the dissemination and implementation of Directive No. 02/CT-TTg at all levels, sectors, mass organizations, relevant organizations and individuals, creating a strong change in awareness and action of authorities at all levels and people in the work of controlling and handling water pollution.

Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and mobilize resources for the control and treatment of water pollution in the province. Thereby, enhancing the effectiveness of the control and treatment of water pollution in river basins, effectively implementing the provisions of the law on environmental protection, moving towards minimizing and completely handling water pollution in some hot spots of river basins in the province.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to guide, inspect and urge the implementation of the plan on schedule.
