In a televised speech, Pavlos Marinakis, the official in charge of communications, said: “The new government will be sworn in on June 27 after the necessary procedures. The first meeting of the new cabinet will also be held on the same day at the Prime Minister’s Office.”

According to the announcement, Mr. Giorgos Gerapetritis will take over the position of Greek Foreign Minister. Meanwhile, Mr. Nikos Dendias - who headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2019 to 2023 - will take over the position of Minister of Defense. Former Labor Minister Kostis Hatzidakis will head the Ministry of Economy and Finance, while Mr. Christos Staikouras will take over the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
In addition, Notis Mitarachi was appointed as Minister of Citizen Protection, while Theodoros Skylakakis became Minister of Energy and Environment, Olga Kefalogianni became Minister of Tourism and Dimitris Keridis became Minister of Refugee and Migration Affairs. A new ministry was created, the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, headed by Sofia Zacharaki.
