Samsung is reportedly developing an ambitious triple-folding smartphone, expected to launch as early as Q3 2025. According to leaker yeux1122 on Naver, the device will be called the “Galaxy G Fold” and promises to usher in a new era for the company’s foldable phone line. If the leaked information is accurate, this will be one of Samsung’s most groundbreaking products, marking a major step forward in foldable screen technology.
While there's no detailed update on specific specifications yet, rumors have it that when fully opened, the Galaxy G Fold will have an impressive screen size of nearly 10 inches.
More improvements in surface quality Samsung Galaxy G Fold is expected with a design that can be folded on both sides. According to leaker yeux1122 on Naver of Korea, Galaxy G Fold will have a 9.96-inch screen when opened, 30% larger than Galaxy Z Fold 6. When folded, the device is about 6.54 inches high, making it easy to carry.
The Galaxy G Fold is said to use a G-shaped folding design, allowing both parts of the screen to fold inwards. This folding style helps protect the screen better, avoiding exposure when folded, unlike Huawei's Mate XT which uses an S-shaped folding mechanism, leaving part of the screen vulnerable.
For the current market, the tri-fold phone is still new to consumers, especially in the context of folding still has disadvantages, such as the crease on the screen. But in reality, the performance of the tri-fold phone is on the rise compared to other smartphones. The fact that designers add an external screen to create more space will only increase their appeal, making them a better choice than current Android phones.
According to the updated news source, there is still no detailed information about the selling price as well as the chip that Samsung will use for the Galaxy G Fold series. However, although the Galaxy G Fold can bring a similar experience to a tablet when fully opened, the high price may limit the product's market penetration.
