Apple leads the list of best-selling smartphones in 2024

According to research firm Counterpoint, global smartphone revenue in 2024 will increase by 5% compared to 2024, with an all-time high average selling price of $356.

Global smartphone shipments also rose 4%, marking an annual increase from 2021. Analysts attributed the increase to widespread 5G adoption, better cameras and faster chips, which helped entice users to upgrade.

Apple dominates the list of best-selling smartphones with the iPhone 15 taking the top spot. The iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro follow closely.

Specifically: Apple dominated the list with the top spot belonging to the iPhone 15, which is estimated to account for 3% of the 1.22 billion smartphones shipped. Followed by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro series beat the iPhone 16 series in its first quarter on the market, showing users' preference for high-end devices.

Samsung is the only other brand to make the top 10 best-selling phones of 2024 with the Galaxy A15, A15 5G and S24 Ultra.

The global smartphone market is maturing, but 2024 shows that demand for the premium segment remains strong. If manufacturers push AI and improve premium experiences, revenue growth could return in the coming years.
