The 2023 Provincial Elderly Singing Festival was a great success, creating favorable conditions for Ha Tinh to continue hosting the Elderly Singing Festival of Northern provinces and cities in 2023.
The 2023 Ha Tinh Province Elderly Singing Festival has the participation of 254 actors and members of 13 troupes from 13 districts, cities and towns. Taking place over 2 days, September 16-17, the troupes brought to the festival 38 performances of many genres such as solo, duet, group singing, choir singing, scene singing, and Nghe Tinh folk song suites with many different melodies and colors.
At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee (OC) awarded the excellent prize to the Ha Tinh City delegation, the first prize to the Cam Xuyen district delegation and 3 second prizes, 4 third prizes, 4 consolation prizes to the delegations participating in the festival. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded A, B, C prizes for excellent performances; a collective prize for the delegation with the highest average age and an award for the elderly with the best voice.
Mr. Thai Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association said: "The Organizing Committee appreciates that the groups have brought to the festival well-invested, elaborately staged, and colorful performances; bringing the audience many emotions and good impressions; expressing the feelings and passion of the elderly for music. This is also considered a "rehearsal" for the organization so that Ha Tinh can prepare carefully for the regional festival."
Ms. Pham Thi Van and members of the Hong Linh town delegation had interesting experiences during their participation in the festival.
As one of the oldest participants in the festival, Ms. Hoang Thi Huong (81 years old, Cam Xuyen town) shared: “Participating in the festival, I feel young again, with a joyful and excited spirit. I am happy to have contributed my efforts and enthusiasm to help my teammates win first prize and the award for the group with the highest average age at the festival.”
Although the group did not achieve the expected results, Ms. Pham Thi Van (70 years old, Nam Hong ward, Hong Linh town) was still filled with emotions after the festival. Ms. Van shared: “The most important thing is that we had the opportunity to participate in an extremely exciting and meaningful playground; to meet and exchange with friends from all over the province. This is also the basis to promote the cultural and artistic movement of the elderly in the locality, the motivation for us to live happily and healthily every day”.

After winning the excellent prize at the provincial festival, members of the Ha Tinh City delegation are urgently practicing, ready for the Northern Provinces and Cities Elderly Singing Festival held in Ha Tinh. Based on the performances that won high prizes at the provincial festival, the delegation has invested more in staging, props and increased practice time.
Ms. Le Thi My Hanh - Vice President of the Ha Tinh City Elderly Association said: “Representing Ha Tinh province to attend the regional festival is a great honor for us. The festival with the participation of hundreds of actors and members from 26 northern provinces and cities will be an opportunity for us to exchange and learn traditional culture and performance skills of other provinces, at the same time, promote the beauty of Ha Tinh culture and people to domestic friends”.
The festival not only provides a meaningful playground for the participating teams but also leaves a strong impression on the public. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hy (Bac Ha Ward, Ha Tinh City) shared: “I follow the festival from the grassroots level, city level to provincial level and see that the performances in the competitions performed by the elderly are not inferior to those of any other age group. Many of the elderly are old but their singing voices and performance skills make the audience extremely impressed.”

On the morning of September 29, at the Cultural - Cinema Center of Ha Tinh province, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Elderly Singing Festival in Northern provinces and cities continued to take place. This is a large-scale mass art performance program with the participation of more than 400 actors and members from 26 troupes in the region. During the 2 days of the festival (September 29-30), the groups will bring nearly 80 performances of many genres, which have been carefully rehearsed and staged, focusing on main contents such as: praising the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and country, praising the fine traditions of the elderly in Vietnam... The program is held in Ha Tinh - a land rich in revolutionary tradition and cultural identity, and will be a meaningful and exciting playground for the elderly mass art troupes to gather and express their passion for art. |
