
On the first day of the Lunar New Year, most markets and supermarket chains in the province were closed for the holiday. On the second day of the Lunar New Year, at Duc Xuan market and Bac Kan market in the city, many small traders opened to sell fresh flowers, green vegetables, spices, fruits and vegetables, etc. Convenience stores also started to reopen with shorter opening hours.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, a pork seller at Duc Xuan market (Bac Kan city) said: "In the area where I do business, most of the items after Tet have increased slightly but not significantly. The price of the pork I sell fluctuates around 180,000 VND/kg - 250,000 VND/kg. Some items that people sell in the market are: Crossbred pork 120,000 VND/kg - 130,000 VND/kg; ready-to-eat chicken 230,000 - 250,000 VND/kg; crossbred chicken 100,000 VND/kg - 130,000 VND/kg, compared to before Tet, the selling price has increased slightly by about 4% - 5%."
Some vegetables, tubers, and fruits such as cabbage cost from 15,000-18,000 VND/kg; chrysanthemum greens, green cabbage, and Malabar spinach range from 8,000-12,000 VND/bunch; tomatoes 20,000-30,000 VND/kg, fragrant green squash 17,000 VND/kg; pumpkin 15,000 VND/kg... However, the prices of foods such as beans, pho, vermicelli, seafood... increased by about 8%.

Ms. Ngo Thi Loan, a vendor at Duc Xuan market (Bac Kan city) said: "I mainly sell green vegetables. During these Tet holidays, green vegetable prices remain the same as usual. From the third day of Tet, people buy more vegetables, but prices remain stable."
Trading activities are gradually returning to normal, consumer demand at the beginning of the year is not high, mainly focusing on some essential items such as fresh food groups, seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits, food and beverage services, tourism services, entertainment, car parking services, passenger transport services...
According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Kan province, before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025, the market supply and demand situation and prices are basically stable and under control, with no shortage of goods or price fever./.
