Rewarding coaches and athletes who won gold medals at the 2025 World Sanshou Cup

(Baoquangngai.vn)- Athlete Dinh Van Tam (19 years old), from Long Son commune (Minh Long) has just won the gold medal at the 2025 Sanda World Cup. With this impressive achievement, Dinh Van Tam was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee.

On the morning of April 14, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to commend and reward coach and athlete Dinh Van Tam for winning a gold medal at the 2025 Sanda World Cup in the 52kg category, Sanda event. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang attended and presented the award.

Dinh Van Tam (19 years old), from Long Son commune (Minh Long) is the only athlete from Quang Ngai to be honored to join the Vietnam Wushu team to compete at the Sanda World Cup, held in Jiangsu province (China), from April 5-10, 2025.

Martial artist Dinh Van Tam is one of the brightest "gems" of Vietnamese wushu. This Hre martial artist has continuously achieved outstanding results in domestic and regional competitions.

After nearly 7 years of being involved in wushu, Tam has won dozens of gold medals in domestic tournaments; 1 gold medal at the Asian Youth Wushu Championship in Brunei (2019) and a bronze medal at the 8th World Youth Wushu Championship in Indonesia in 2022. In 2023, Tam won a bronze medal in the Sanshou event, 52kg weight class at the World Wushu Championship, held in the US in late November 2023. Notably, at the 2024 Asian Wushu Championship, martial artist Dinh Van Tam won a gold medal.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang praised the achievements of the coaches and athletes at the meeting.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang acknowledged and praised the efforts of athlete Dinh Van Tam in overcoming many difficulties and achieving excellent results at the 2025 World Sanshou Cup. This is an honor and pride for Quang Ngai to have an athlete contributing to the overall achievements of Vietnamese sports.

At the same time, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang hopes that athlete Dinh Van Tam and other athletes of the province, with the attention of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the dedicated guidance of the coaches, will continue to maintain their determination and efforts in competition, contributing to the further development of the province's sports. The provincial sports sector needs to continue to pay attention to, discover and nurture talented athletes to develop high-performance sports for the province.

Sharing at the commendation ceremony, athlete Dinh Van Tam expressed his joy and happiness at the attention of the provincial leaders and said that this is the motivation for him to be determined and make efforts to practice and compete in the coming time, to reap more achievements to bring glory to the province and the country.

At the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit and cash prizes to athlete Dinh Van Tam and coach Pham Quoc Anh. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang presented a special award to athlete Dinh Van Tam for his outstanding achievements. In addition, the Provincial Martial Arts Federation; Minh Long District People's Committee; and the Lighting Up Dreams Scholarship Fund also presented awards to athlete Dinh Van Tam.
