Launching a book series commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory

The book series celebrating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) has more than 30 books.

On the morning of April 16, in Hanoi, the People's Army Publishing House in collaboration with Vietnam Cultural Knowledge and Book Joint Stock Company launched a book series to celebrate the 70th anniversary (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).

The set of more than 30 books includes: Memoirs and memories of famous generals who directly participated in commanding the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, which have been reprinted (many times), but still retain their value today, such as: "Dien Bien Phu", "Dien Bien Phu - Golden Milestone of History" by General Vo Nguyen Giap, "General Hoang Van Thai with the Dien Bien Phu Campaign", "General Le Trong Tan with the Dien Bien Phu Campaign"...

The studies, summaries, and analyses clarify the wise leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho; the guiding role of the Central Military Commission, the Campaign Command, and the prominence of General Vo Nguyen Giap; the Vietnamese military art through strategic operations, campaigns, and tactics; statistics, figures, events, assessments and comments both domestically and internationally; and the great support of fraternal countries and friends around the world.

The memoirs and stories associated with the relics and memories of veterans who directly participated in the battle and the literary works (poetry, prose) contribute to recreating through details and building character images with authentic, vivid, simple, easy-to-understand language, highlighting the great feats and sacrifices of our army and people to achieve glorious victory in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign.

As part of a series of activities in response to the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2024, the People's Army Publishing House will organize exhibitions and introduce the book series in Hanoi, Dien Bien and Ho Chi Minh City.
