According to the report of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, as of September 30, 2024, districts and cities have implemented the construction and repair of 215 houses. Of which, 202 houses were newly built and 13 houses were repaired, with a total implementation cost of 10 billion 765 million VND, reaching 21.5% of the plan.
To speed up the process of eliminating 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in 2024. On October 3, Lam Dong province held an online conference to address major challenges in the implementation process. Especially difficulties in initial capital and lack of clean land to arrange housing for poor and near-poor households.
At the meeting, Mr. Pham Trieu emphasized that, in the spirit of making things complete, clarifying the people and the work according to the direction of the Prime Minister, he requested units and localities to continue to propagate and mobilize support for the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. He requested the government to create the best conditions for poor households, not necessarily having a red book to build a house because most of them are ethnic minorities living according to the customs and practices of ethnic minorities.
In addition, Mr. Pham Trieu also proposed mobilizing more clans and communities to contribute and support with materials and labor, aiming to ensure a minimum of 100 million VND/house for poor households.
Up to now, the province has mobilized 46 billion VND from contributions and support from many organizations and businesses. Of which, 29 billion 564 million VND has been received and allocated to localities to build houses for people.
According to the plan, by October 15, 2024, the allocation of capital to localities will be completed. This is an encouraging achievement, demonstrating the efforts and determination of the entire political system from the provincial to the communal level in caring for people's lives.
“With the joint efforts of authorities at all levels, organizations, businesses and people, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2024 of Lam Dong province will contribute to creating positive changes, helping the province develop more sustainably in the future,” Mr. Pham Trieu affirmed.
