The Vallet Scholarship Fund has just celebrated its 25th anniversary. To date, the Vallet Scholarship Fund has awarded nearly 50,000 scholarships worth more than VND500 billion to excellent students across the country.
Professor Tran Thanh Van, President of the Vietnam Rencontres du Sciences Association, said that these scholarships are not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping students confidently pursue their dreams and aspirations. Professor Tran Thanh Van affirmed that the Vallet Scholarship Fund is a vivid demonstration of the international community's interest in Vietnam's education, especially the France-Vietnam friendship; at the same time, he emphasized that the Fund will continue to make positive contributions to the development of education and science in the country.

Speaking online at the ceremony, Professor Odon Vallet, Chairman of the Vallet Foundation, said that since 2001, he has voluntarily contributed to the scholarship program through the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam, founded by Professor Tran Thanh Van and Professor Le Kim Ngoc. Since then, he has accompanied Vietnamese students. Professor Vallet expressed his appreciation for the students' learning spirit and pledged to continue cooperating with the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam to expand the scale and improve the quality of activities, and to award Vallet scholarships of higher value in the future. Dr. Espéran Padonou, Director of the Vallet Foundation, expressed his gratitude to scientists, agencies and the whole society for joining hands to support, helping to spread the spirit of the Scholarship Fund and contributing to encouraging the studious spirit of Vietnamese students. He said that in 2024, the Vallet Foundation, through the Vietnam Science Association, awarded 2,100 scholarships to excellent students nationwide, worth VND15 million/scholarship for high school students, VND29 million/scholarship for university students, and VND45 million/scholarship for graduate students. Sharing about the 25-year journey of sowing knowledge, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat said that the Vallet scholarship has discovered and supported many young talents in fields such as natural sciences, engineering, and medicine, helping them develop their abilities and become scientists, experts, and leaders who contribute positively to the country. The scholarship also opens up many learning opportunities for students from remote and disadvantaged areas, giving them more determination to rise up. In the coming time, the Ministry of Science and Technology will always accompany and create favorable conditions for the Vallet Scholarship Fund to operate effectively and develop sustainably, contributing to improving the quality of human resources, especially in the field of science and technology, while spreading good values to the young generation of Vietnam. In recognition of the outstanding and positive contributions to the development of the Vallet Fund and its programs in Vietnam, the Minister of Science and Technology awarded the Medal "For the Cause of Science and Technology" to Dr. Espéran Padonou, Director of the Vallet Fund.
