Nghe An province recognized Quynh Doi village as a tourist destination according to the decision announced on September 24. The province requested Quynh Luu district to coordinate with agencies, organizations and individuals to protect, preserve and develop tourism resources in the village; create favorable conditions for tourists to visit; issue regulations on management and exploitation, develop explanatory content and promotional publications to promote the value of the tourist destination.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong, Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu district, said that Quynh Doi village being recognized as a tourist destination is an opportunity to communicate the value of the destination, helping the locality have a basis for propaganda and organizing activities to welcome guests.

According to the Law on Tourism, a tourist destination is a place with natural landscape resources and cultural values, invested in and exploited to serve tourists. A place recognized as a tourist destination has the right to organize tourism business, collect fees, organize explanations and must ensure experiences and services for tourists.

Quynh Doi village is located in Quynh Doi commune, the hometown of poetess Ho Xuan Huong (1772-1822). The village is a famous cultural and tourist destination of Quynh Luu district, with many national and provincial historical and cultural relics such as the tomb complex and temple of Hoang Giap - Thuong Thu Quynh district duke Ho Phi Tich, Ho Dai clan's ancestral house, Floating market, Bo Re bridge, Quynh Doi communal house, Duong family's ancestral house, Ba Ca ancient well.

In early April, in a document sent to the People's Committee of Nghe An province asking for opinions on adjusting the names of 8 commune-level administrative units after the merger, Quynh Luu district proposed combining new names for the communes, including Quynh Doi and Quynh Hau communes to form the new commune Doi Hau. Many people disagreed with this name, because they wanted to keep the name Quynh Doi.

In mid-April, Quynh Doi and Quynh Hau communes proposed to take a new name after the merger, Quynh An, and submit it to the province for consideration. According to the district, Quynh An is understood as peace and security, and also has a special meaning of combining the word Quynh of Quynh Luu district and the word An, the name of Nghe An province. However, this new plan has not yet received consensus.

In early June, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee decided not to merge Quynh Doi commune with Quynh Hau commune in the 2023-2025 period. The merger of these two communes will be considered in the 2026-2030 period.

According to Vice Chairman of Quynh Luu district Nguyen Van Thuong, after implementing the project of merging administrative boundaries, Quynh Doi tourist village will keep its original name.
