On August 5, in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Plan for the period 2025-2030 took place between Quang Tri province and Mukdahan province of Thailand. This cooperation plan is effective from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2030.
Leaders of Quang Tri and Mukdahan provinces signed the Cooperation Plan for the period 2025-2030.
The two provinces agreed to sign a cooperation plan for the 2025-2030 period in the fields of economy, investment, trade and tourism; training, labor, human resource development; communication and promotion.
In economic, investment, trade and tourism cooperation, the two provinces create favorable conditions for businesses of each side to connect, learn about and access information on investment potential and opportunities; regularly participate in trade fairs, develop distribution channels for goods and e-commerce; support, facilitate promotion and encourage cooperation in tourism, passenger and cargo transportation.
In addition, the two provinces also agreed to direct relevant agencies to build joint tours and tourist routes, connect traffic to serve trade and tourism development, and coordinate in organizing cultural, artistic, physical education and sports exchanges.

Regarding cooperation in training, labor and human resource development, the two sides will consider supporting and encouraging universities and colleges to exchange lecturers and students; creating conditions for educational institutions to unify the implementation of cooperation contents, including granting scholarships to students.
The two sides will organize vocational training, especially high-quality vocational training; encourage cooperation and exchange of labor resources, first of all in the tourism sector; train and improve labor capacity and qualifications to meet market needs to meet the labor shift in the ASEAN Community...
With communication and promotion activities, the two sides will continue to coordinate and actively participate in events of both sides and provinces on the East-West Economic Corridor. Media agencies regularly exchange and cooperate to introduce the land, people, scenic spots, historical and cultural relics. Strengthen exchanges, learn from experiences, and exchange information on craft village products according to Thailand's OTOP model or Vietnam's OCOP model...
In addition, the two sides have consulted each other on holding a Biennial Meeting in each side to evaluate the implementation of this cooperation plan. The next meeting will be hosted by Mukdahan Province, scheduled for 2026.
At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung said that this meeting opens up many new opportunities, creating momentum for development in the cooperative relationship between the two provinces in the ASEAN Economic Community. This is an important milestone, which has been successfully developed after the Thailand Meeting Conference to call for promoting Thai investment in Vietnam hosted by Quang Tri province in 2023, demonstrating the determination and goodwill to strengthen cooperation between the two provinces, contributing to promoting the good cooperative relationship between the two countries.
