Quang Ninh welcomes the 3 millionth international visitor to Ha Long Bay

On the morning of October 21, leaders of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism and the People's Committee of Ha Long City were present at Ha Long International Passenger Port to welcome and present flowers to tourists on the Viking Orion ship visiting Ha Long Bay.

On this ship, there is the 3 millionth international visitor to visit Ha Long Bay in 2024.

The 3 millionth international tourist to visit Ha Long Bay was presented with flowers by the leaders of the Department of Tourism and Ha Long City People's Committee.

The Viking Orion was carrying nearly 900 people, mostly tourists from the US, on a cruise across Asia. The ship traveled from Hong Kong, China to Ha Long.

According to the program, tourist groups on the Viking Orion ship will visit Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Museum and some tourist attractions in Quang Ninh province on October 21-22.

A female tourist was excited after receiving flowers from the leader of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, saying that this was her first time visiting Ha Long Bay. Before leaving, she and many members of the group had thoroughly researched Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh province in the American press.

"We read in the press that Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam were severely damaged by Typhoon Yagi. But today, when we arrived here, we saw the lush green of the forest trees reviving after the storm. Ha Long Bay is so beautiful, as if it had never been damaged by a natural disaster," said the female tourist.

According to information from the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, in 2024, international cruise tourism activities to Ha Long have improved a lot. According to the plan, in the 2024-2025 cruise season, there will be about 60 cruise ships carrying over 100,000 international tourists to Ha Long.

Including luxury cruise ships of shipping lines such as: Viking Orion, Costa, Seven Seas, Noordam, Celebrity Solstice, Le Lapouser, Seabourn, Mein Schiff….

International tourists quickly got off the ship to experience the beauty of Ha Long City.

Currently, the Quang Ninh Tourism industry has made efforts to reopen some cruise routes, such as from Guangzhou (China) to Ha Long (Vietnam) which has been implemented since June 27, 2024; the cruise route from Hong Kong (China) to Ha Long has also been reopened since September 30, 2024.

From now until the end of 2024, it is expected that there will be nearly 20 cruise ships to Ha Long, including ships with large numbers of passengers such as: Costa Serena (3,500 passengers, Hong Kong, China); Celebrity Solstice (2,800 European and American passengers); Mein Schiff 6 (2,500 passengers from Germany and Europe)...

Quang Ninh province welcoming its 3 millionth international visitor on October 21 is an important milestone recognizing the achievements of Quang Ninh tourism in recent times. This is the highest number of international visitors to Quang Ninh since 2020.
