Quang Nam launches Humanitarian Month 2025

The activity was organized in response to the Humanitarian Month 2025 launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love"; towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); 162nd anniversary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day (May 8).

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Tan Minh - Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society said: In May 2021, the Secretariat officially allowed the Vietnam Red Cross Society to take May every year as Humanitarian Month to deploy nationwide.

In Quang Nam province, in 4 years (2021 - 2024), the total value of Humanitarian Month activities in the province reached more than 26.7 billion VND, supporting 85,556 cases.

With the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love", Humanitarian Month 2025 is deployed to raise awareness, arouse compassion among people of all walks of life and the responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and social forces in humanitarian work.

During the Humanitarian Month of 2025, all levels of the association in the province strive to ensure the targets assigned by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, focusing on activities such as receiving blood, supporting livelihoods, starting construction of Red Cross houses, medical examination and health care consultation, etc.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of World Vision Vietnam supported 250 million VND to buy construction materials to build houses for the poor in Nam Giang district.

The Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Hoi An City and the districts of Nui Thanh, Nam Giang, and benefactors to organize a series of activities for the Humanitarian Month in 2025, such as: Giving 100 gifts to people in need; giving 10 gifts to families with meritorious services; giving 20 bicycles and 10 scholarships to poor but studious students.

In addition, the organization visited and expressed gratitude to 2 policy families in Thanh My town, along with many meaningful and practical activities organized by Nam Giang Red Cross Society.

“On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Red Cross Society, I respectfully request that Party committees at all levels, authorities, agencies, units, and philanthropists continue to pay attention, create favorable conditions, and accompany the Red Cross Society in humanitarian activities in 2025.

"I request that Red Cross officials, members and volunteers, with responsibility, continue to mobilize and connect with benefactors to share with people in difficult circumstances and unfortunate lives, contributing to the implementation of social security policies in the province," Mr. Minh said at the ceremony.

Implementing the Humanitarian Month 2024 with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Giving and Receiving Love", the Red Cross Society of Quang Nam province at all levels carried out many activities with a total value of more than 15.4 billion VND - supporting 27,633 people.
