( Bqp.vn ) - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on the morning of December 16, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, came to offer flowers and incense to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap and heroic martyrs at the ATK Special National Relic Site (Dinh Hoa District, Thai Nguyen Province). The delegation was attended by leaders of Military Region 1, Thai Nguyen Province.

Here, on May 28, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh presided over the ceremony to confer the first General rank of our Army on Comrade Vo Nguyen Giap, Commander-in-Chief of the National Army and Militia and Self-Defense Forces.
