Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Bach Lien Huong and Secretary of Hai Ba Trung District Party Committee Nguyen Van Nam awarded the Third Class Independence Medal to Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuu (whose only child is a martyr).

On the afternoon of July 24, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Ba Trung District held a ceremony to celebrate the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023).

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Hai Ba Trung District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, on behalf of the leaders of the District People's Committee, sent her warm regards, deep affection and gratitude to the wounded soldiers, families of martyrs, and people with revolutionary contributions in the district.

To demonstrate the morality of drinking water and remembering its source, the Party Committee, government and people of the district regularly pay attention to and take care of the lives of families of martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers and people with revolutionary contributions. From the beginning of 2023 to now, the district has organized many "Repaying gratitude" activities such as: Visiting and giving gifts from all levels to people with revolutionary contributions on the occasion of the Lunar New Year with an amount of over 14 billion VND, renovating and repairing houses for 12 households with revolutionary contributions with a total cost of nearly 1 billion VND.

At the same time, mobilize social resources from agencies, units, businesses, individuals and philanthropists to donate and support the "Repaying gratitude" Fund of the district and the People's Committees of 18 wards with an amount of over 1.4 billion VND. Donate 237 savings books with a total cost of 603 million VND; organize meetings to show gratitude to 441 families of war invalids and martyrs with a total cost of 441 million VND; use the district's Gratitude Fund to donate 55 war invalids and people infected with 81% or more of toxic chemicals with an amount of 55 million VND; organize medical examinations, provide free medicine and health care for more than 4,000 people with revolutionary contributions...

Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Hien suggested that Party committees at all levels, agencies and units in the district continue to better implement preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions. In particular, pay attention to education and training, vocational training to create jobs for people with revolutionary contributions and their children, and provide practical and effective support to families with preferential policies in both material and spiritual terms. At the same time, continue to launch more widely the movement of "Repaying gratitude", the whole population takes care of people with revolutionary contributions, and effectively implement the motto "The State, the people and those who enjoy preferential policies strive together" to make each family of people with revolutionary contributions secure in material terms, happy in spirit and participate in activities that are useful to society.
