On the afternoon of September 21, at the Government headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam who came to greet him on the occasion of taking up his new assignment in Vietnam.
At the reception, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Choi Young Sam on his appointment as Korean Ambassador to Vietnam and presented his credentials to President Vo Van Thuong on August 29.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Korean Government's appointment of a professional, experienced diplomat with ties to the Asian region as Korean Ambassador to Vietnam shows the importance the Korean Government attaches to the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the two sides maintain regular visits and contacts at high and all levels in many flexible forms, to continuously consolidate and deepen the relationship between the two countries' high-ranking leaders, creating a foundation for promoting cooperation in other fields.
Emphasizing that Korea is the country with the leading investment capital in Vietnam, including large projects such as Samsung, LG..., the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government continues to strongly improve the investment and business environment to create favorable conditions for foreign investors to successfully implement investment projects in Vietnam, including Korean enterprises.
Welcoming the two sides to establish a Joint Working Group on Climate Change, the Deputy Prime Minister believes that with the determination and efforts of both sides, the goals set out in the Vietnam-Korea Climate Change Cooperation Agreement will be successfully implemented.
The two sides are promoting negotiations to hold the first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Climate Change in Hanoi later this year.

At the reception, Korean Ambassador Choi Young Sam congratulated Vietnam on its recent achievements in socio-economic development and foreign affairs.
The Ambassador affirmed that in the coming time, the Korean side will closely coordinate with Vietnam to realize the agreements reached during the official visit to Vietnam by Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in June 2023.
The Ambassador pledged to do his utmost to promote the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment, and expand cooperation between the two countries in new areas such as essential minerals, technology and innovation, climate change, and new energy.
