15 million VND for a bouquet of roses on Valentine's Day, rich customers still pay to buy

For many days now, employees of a flower shop on Hai Ba Trung Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) have been busy preparing to deliver high-end imported flower bouquets worth up to tens of millions of VND to customers on Valentine's Day.

Mr. Nam, the store manager, said: "On Valentine's Day, the types of fresh flowers that customers often choose are Da Lat roses, imported roses, tulips... even though the prices of these types are quite expensive."

For example, heart-shaped baskets of Ecuadorian roses cost up to 15,000,000 - 20,000,000 VND. "Each basket takes us 3 hours to make, and from February 9 to today, the shop has had more than 100 orders for this type of basket."

According to Mr. Nam, the cheapest basket of Ecuadorian roses costs 15 million VND, including 50 roses priced at 150,000 VND/flower.

Accessories will be balloons or peach blossoms, orchids...

According to Mr. Nam, the price of imported fresh flowers for Valentine's Day this year has increased slightly compared to previous years. In addition to Ecuadorian roses, Japanese ranunculus flowers also cost up to 300,000 VND/flower, and tulips cost 120,000 VND/flower.

"Our customers are all long-term customers, mainly those who are well-off, so they don't care too much about the price. If they want to buy imported flowers, they have to pay from tens of millions to several tens of millions of dong. Even though the flowers are expensive, we have never had unsold flowers. This year, many customers have placed orders early," said Mr. Nam.

In addition to rose baskets costing tens of millions of dong, customers can choose smaller bouquets of Ecuadorian roses priced at 1,000,000 - 4,000,000 VND/bouquet.
