Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long pays tribute to heroic martyrs

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27 (1947-2024), today, July 5, the Government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long solemnly held a ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel; National Martyrs' Cemeteries on Road 9 and Truong Son; and visited and presented gifts to policy families in Gio Linh district. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Colonel Nguyen Huu Dan; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien also attended.

Laying wreaths and offering incense at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and delegates respectfully bowed to commemorate the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who did not spare their blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed in the 81-day and night battle to protect Quang Tri Ancient Citadel in the fiery summer of 1972, for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and for the happiness of the people.

Before the souls of thousands of heroic martyrs resting in eternal peace at the National Martyrs' Cemeteries of Road 9 and Truong Son, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and delegates expressed their infinite gratitude and deep appreciation to the heroic martyrs who devoted their youth, bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation; vowing to continue to strive, study, train, and build the country to be more and more prosperous and beautiful.

After the ceremony, the delegation visited and presented gifts to policy families in Gio Linh district, including: Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Nay, 95 years old in Gia Mon village, Phong Binh commune and Mr. Le Dinh, 87 years old, 1/4 disabled soldier in Cam Pho village, Gio My commune.

At the places he visited, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, and families of policy beneficiaries in the cause of national liberation.

Hope that families, local Party committees, authorities, and organizations continue to take care of the health, material and spiritual life of policy beneficiaries in the area.
