The Government Office has issued Document No. 8347/VPCP-KGVX conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on handling press information reflecting on the draft Regulations on enrollment in junior high schools and high schools.
Recently, the press has reported information related to the draft Regulations on admission to junior high school and high school.
According to feedback, the draft Regulations on junior high school and high school admissions proposes that the 10th grade exam will include three subjects including math, literature and a third subject or a combined exam selected by the Department of Education and Training and the university with a high school and announced before March 31 every year.
On forums, many parents agree with the plan to take 3 exams for grade 10 high school, but are concerned and worried about the "secret" third exam subject being announced so close to the exam date. Parents believe that the Ministry of Education and Training should adjust the time to announce the exam subjects earlier so that students can review.
In response to the above information, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long directed the Ministry of Education and Training to carefully review, research, and absorb public opinions to complete and promulgate the Regulations on admission to junior high schools and high schools according to its authority, including considering the time of announcement for early exams to create favorable conditions for schools and students, especially in proactively planning appropriate and effective teaching, learning, and review.
