Ho Chi Minh City - After more than a week of operation, Phan Xich Long food street has attracted a large number of people and tourists to eat and have fun on the eve of Tet.

The food street is more than 1.5 km long from the Phan Xich Long - Phan Dang Luu intersection to Van Kiep street, including Phan Xich Long street leading to Rach Mieu residential area and all the branches named after flowers.
The food street covers wards 1, 2, and 7 of the district and opened on January 26.

The newly opened food court inside Rach Mieu Sports Club is furnished with many tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the cuisine. On the weekend near Tet, many people and tourists come to eat and drink.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung said he registered to rent a kiosk for about 10 million a month, selling all kinds of snails. "I sell each portion for 40,000 VND for tourists to use easily. For about a week now, sales have been very good," Mr. Trung said.

Phan Xich Long area gathers more than 220 food service businesses, many famous domestic and foreign culinary brands.
According to the leader of Phu Nhuan district, all activities will be managed by an app called Phan Xich Long food street. The app will connect three parties including the management agency, business owners and diners. Business owners will declare information about activities, addresses, menus, food prices... The government will base on that to manage, for example, if the restaurant's food safety certificate expires, it will be automatically reminded. Diners can search for restaurants, book tables, choose dishes, view prices, and pay via the app.

Phu Nhuan District leaders said that Phan Xich Long Street is a bustling place, a place that diners have been looking for recently. However, this area has many street vendors, encroaching on the sidewalk, and has not been managed for food safety and hygiene. When the food street is operational, the role of state management will be clear and orderly, bringing a better experience to diners.

Phan Xich Long Food Street is expected to create a space for entertainment, sightseeing, and recreation for people, promote tourism, and develop the night-time economy.
Ho Chi Minh City currently has 9 night streets including two walking streets Bui Vien and Nguyen Hue (District 1), 7 culinary streets including Ho Thi Ky and Quang Trung Flag Tower (District 10), Vinh Khanh (District 4), Hau Giang (District 6), Nguyen Thuong Hien (District 3), Phan Xich Long (Phu Nhuan District), Thao Dien, Thu Duc City.
