In the near future, the race promises to be more exciting. Many films have been invested in thoroughly over a long period of time. Familiar names are also returning, contributing to creating many surprises for the audience.

In the film, the female singer born in 2003 plays My Tien, a Gen Z content creator who returns to her family's house to film "million-view" videos and post them on social media.

Not believing in spirituality herself, she had to change when she suddenly saw the spirit of her deceased brother Gia Minh (Huynh Lap). From then on, the two brothers planned to keep the family house that was being disputed by relatives.

Phuong My Chi's fans expect their idol to deliver an excellent performance with lots of laughter, as she often does on TikTok.

Entering March, audiences continue to have more choices outside the theater. Horror movies Possessed promises to stir up the box office, continuing the success of Ghost, Demon Dog, Lynx…

The project stars Quang Tuan and Kha Nhu. The story revolves around a couple living in a highland village. One day, their lives are turned upside down when they discover an unclaimed coffin.

After excavating the coffin, the characters are haunted by a mysterious force, and at the same time a series of strange events occur in the village, causing many deaths.

The film is directed by Pom Nguyen and produced by Nhat Trung. The crew hopes the film will have high revenue so they can continue the series of horror films revolving around the five elements.

Besides, Close the deal by the director duo Nam Cito - Bao Nhan is also a project scheduled to be released in theaters in early March.

The work revolves around the theme of livestream sales. Miss Thuy Tien plays the main role, playing Hoang Linh - known as the "god of closing deals" with a busy job. Her life changes when she meets Uncle An (Quyen Linh) - an office worker and technology motorbike taxi driver.

The film brings together a famous cast, including veteran faces such as Hong Van, Hong Dao, Quyen Linh... The content will exploit the livestream sales profession, while also embedding many meaningful messages about social reality and relationships between people in the digital age.

Competition on the occasion of April 30

Like every year, the Vietnamese film race on the occasion of April 30 this year promises to be full of drama with invested projects.

"Box office king" Thai Hoa attracts attention when he returns with Tunnel - Sun in the dark. This is a film directed by Bui Thac Chuyen, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

Set in the late 1960s, the film takes viewers back to the time when the anti-American resistance war was raging.

In the film, Thai Hoa plays Bay Theo – the leader of a 21-man guerrilla team. When Binh An Dong base becomes a target of the US military, he and his teammates must protect the new intelligence group hiding in the base at all costs, even sacrificing their lives.

The film has invested heavily in sound, special effects and setting. Director Bui Thac Chuyen's skills are also a factor that helps the audience put their trust and expectations in a quality work.

Thai Hoa returns with the movie Tunnels: Sun in the Dark.

Not to be outdone, Flip side 8 belong to Ly Hai also attracted much attention from the audience right from the casting and production announcement stages.

The project attracted attention because of the participation of Le Tuan Khang - a famous "hot TikToker" with a channel of more than 13.6 million followers.

Released on April 30, the film has many advantages to create a fever at the box office. Not to mention, the Ly Hai brand has always maintained its position with a loyal audience.

The only thing the director born in 1968 has to overcome is the revenue milestone of 482 billion VND. Flip Side 7: A Wish . If successful, Ly Hai will continue his streak of consecutive victories as each subsequent project has a higher box office performance than the previous film.

Besides, some projects are also expected to launch this year such as Detective Kien: The Headless Case (Directed by Victor Vu), Red Rain (Dang Thai Huyen), Bottom of the lake (Tran Huu Tan), Strawberry sale contract (Le Binh Giang)… and especially the “supernatural universe” developed by Vo Thanh Hoa.

With a diversity of genres and an increase in quantity, it can be seen that the Vietnamese cinema picture in 2025 is quite vibrant. It is still too early to conclude, but positive signals from the box office show that audiences can still hope for a boom year for domestic cinema.
