To meet the needs and tastes of the market, many craft villages have changed their production methods, applied modern technology, and created high-quality products in both design and quality. At the same time, they are interested in and build e-commerce sales channels to promote and search for markets, participate in e-commerce trading floors, and use social networks to promote trade for craft village products to reach further.

If in the past, most households and production facilities in the craft villages were manual, using old, semi-automatic machinery, resulting in low labor productivity and a high labor cost, then up to now, the craft villages in the province are gradually changing and developing strongly thanks to the application of advances in science and technology, technological innovation in production. In particular, the mechanical and metal casting craft villages in our province have affirmed unexpected successes with many products present in most provinces and cities in the country and even reaching far beyond the territory of Vietnam. Typically, the bronze casting craft in Tra Dong, Thieu Trung commune (Thieu Hoa) has 132 establishments creating stable and regular jobs for nearly 400 local workers. In recent years, thanks to the application of science and technology in the copper grinding and cooling stages, that is, converting from function to electricity, or using composite and silicon molds, applying technology to create 3D patterns... From there, Tra Dong copper products have been continuously improved in design, quality has been increasingly enhanced, meeting the consumer tastes and serving the beliefs of domestic and international customers.
Or at the traditional fish sauce production village of Ba Lang, Hai Thanh ward, Nghi Son town, which is famous for its pure fish sauce products, with high protein content but is very "picky" with customers due to its strong smell, salty taste and often hand-packaged. In recent years, many households and production facilities in the village have made positive changes in line with consumer tastes. Craftsmen have overcome the smell of traditional fish sauce by replacing cement fish sauce tanks with earthenware jars to ferment fish; filtering, drying in the sun many times; applying solar panels to generate heat to warm the fish sauce tanks and operate the automatic fish sauce stirring system; applying multi-enzyme microbial technology combined with temperature, shortening the process of hydrolysis of fish protein; Using a water filtration system using reverse osmosis technology to filter out tiny fish meat, residue and bacteria to produce a clearer, more eye-catching finished product than traditional fish sauce... The packaging of the finished product has also changed significantly, such as instead of using plastic bottles, it has gradually switched to glass bottles with capacities suitable for each consumer (gifts, daily use), with eye-catching paper bags; the bottling and labeling process is also invested in an automatic line according to the correct standards.... Thanks to that, the consumption output has continuously increased.
The province currently has 37 occupations and more than 110 craft villages and traditional craft villages that have been recognized as meeting the prescribed criteria. Preserving and promoting the value of occupations and craft villages is one of the important contents in rural economic development, creating jobs for tens of thousands of local workers, contributing to the New Rural Development Program and improving the quality of life of rural people.
The development of craft villages also creates good traditional cultural values that need to be preserved. In recent years, localities in the province have always focused on preserving and developing traditional craft villages and developing new craft villages. In particular, focusing on developing craft villages that produce products with high economic value, cultural content, and great export potential. Famous products of craft villages such as Nga Son sedge mats; Tra Dong bronze casting, Thieu Trung commune (Thieu Hoa); Khuc Phu fish sauce (Hoang Hoa); Ba Lang fish sauce (Nghi Son town)... have gone beyond the "village bamboo fence", reaching large domestic and international markets, bringing high economic values to the products; the lives of people in craft villages are therefore increasingly prosperous.
