On the morning of August 13, the General Department of Market Management informed that the authorities had just inspected two cases of trading and transporting chicken feet of unclear origin, seizing more than 1.9 tons of violating goods.
Specifically, at 5:00 p.m. on August 9, at the traffic route through Son Binh village, Ma Ly Pho commune, Phong Tho district (Lai Chau province), Market Management Team No. 4 coordinated with Department PC03 (Lai Chau Provincial Police) to inspect a shipment of 30 white pineapple sacks.
Inside these sacks were processed chicken feet, weighing a total of 930kg. The owner of the chicken feet, Mr. Ly Van Min, was unable to present documents or invoices proving the origin of the chicken feet.
Next, on August 10, in Phong Tho town, Market Management Team No. 4 coordinated with PC03 Department and Traffic Police Team No. 1 of PC08 Department (Lai Chau Provincial Police) to inspect a truck with license plate 24H-01844.
On the truck bed were 1,000kg of processed chicken feet contained in 36 pineapple sacks that were leaking and giving off a foul smell.
The sack containing the goods had no label, no information to identify the origin, place of manufacture or source. Mr. Nguyen Duc Toi, the driver and owner of the goods, was also unable to present any documents, invoices or receipts to prove the legal origin of this shipment.
