Flip Side 8 releases official trailer: A journey of passion overcoming prejudice

The trailer opens with a grand music concert with a brightly lit stage and thousands of spectators. Immediately after, the image of arid white sand dunes appears, creating a sharp contrast in space and color – from the bright neon lights to the harsh sunshine and wind of the Central region. This is also the artistic intention of director Ly Hai: the contrast between the artist's dream and the hard-working reality.

Mr. Phuoc – a typical father who wants his children to have a stable education – cannot accept that his son Tam dreams of becoming a singer. Despite that, Tam and his friends formed the band “The Light” and registered to participate in a major music competition – Hi Idols!.

The trailer also introduces the humorous appearance of director Ly Hai as Mr. Long - the owner of the parking lot with a typical floral shirt. Mr. Long and the villagers do not believe that the young band will go anywhere. But Tam and his friends still practice diligently, despite many conflicts and challenges.

Not only revolving around Tam's family, the film also explores the circumstances of the members of the group "The Light". Each family has its own situation, each person has a different way of raising children. These differences create a multi-dimensional picture of generational conflicts in Vietnamese families.

The trailer also reveals the “tailor-made” role of Le Tuan Khang – a motorbike taxi driver who studied mechanical engineering at the University of Science and Technology. This character promises to be a funny character and bring a new perspective to Mr. Phuoc. Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan also appears in an interesting cameo role, accompanying Mr. Phuoc to the city to find his son.

The official trailer also highlights the differences in views between generations in Tam's family.

Grandmother – a character from the “older generation” – is the one who understands and supports the dreams of Tam and her younger sister Phuc the most. Memories of war appearing through her flashbacks further stir the desire for freedom and living true to the passion of the younger generation.

At the end of the trailer, the film's rhythm is pushed to a climax. On one side, Mr. Phuoc braves the wind and rain to drive to the city; on the other side, there is the explosive stage of Hi Idols! and Tam's fall. The question arises: "So our group really failed, Ms. Le?", making the audience feel heartbroken.

Flip Side 8: Sunny Bracelet is a combination of family and music themes.

The cast includes veteran names such as Meritorious Artist Kim Phuong, Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Tuyet Thu, Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan, Ngan Quynh, Kieu Trinh... as well as young faces such as Doan The Vinh, Hong Thu, Tin Nguyen, Yuno Bigboi, Anh Tu Wilson... In particular, the film has the participation of guest artists such as Trung Dung, Huy Khanh, Ammy Minh Khue, Thuy Anh, Thai Vu...

Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang – written, directed, produced and edited by Ly Hai will have early screenings from April 27 before officially opening on April 30.
