Professional and amateur athletes will compete in individual distances of 21.1km, 42.195km for men and women in the professional and amateur categories; 10km for professional men, young men, amateur men and women; 5km for professional women, young women, amateur men and women.

In addition to competing in individual distances, athletes from provincial, municipal and industry teams also compete for team and group points.
