Accordingly, the Minister of Education and Training recognized Associate Professor Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice Rector, to hold the position of Rector of Can Tho University; the decision takes effect from December 28.

Previously, the University Council of Can Tho University assigned Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Trung Tinh, Vice Rector in charge of Can Tho University from November 1 until the decision of the Minister of Education and Training to recognize the Rector of Can Tho University for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Tran Trung Tin is an Associate Professor, Doctor of Electrical Engineering. From July 1998 to February 2007, he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Technology. From February 2007 to May 2021, he held the positions of Head of Department, Deputy Head of Faculty, Faculty of Technology at Can Tho University.

Since June 2012, he has been Vice Principal of Can Tho University. He also holds the position of Director of the University's ODA Project Management Board.

Currently, Can Tho University has 200 professors and associate professors (21 professors, 179 associate professors).

Can Tho University plays an important role in multidisciplinary and multi-field training, providing human resources for Can Tho City as well as the Mekong Delta region.

Can Tho University offers 91 undergraduate majors (including 2 advanced training programs, 8 high-quality training programs), 51 graduate majors, and 19 doctoral majors.
