Vice Chairman Vo Ngoc Hiep, 57 years old, was assigned to temporarily run Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee until the competent authority makes a new personnel decision.
On January 4, the Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee unanimously assigned Mr. Hiep to run the work of the Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. The decision was made three days after Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was temporarily detained by the Department of Police Investigation of Crimes of Corruption, Economy, and Smuggling (C03, Ministry of Public Security) for the crime of Accepting Bribes.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Hiep was elected Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee at the end of 2022. Previously, he held the position of Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province.
Regarding violations at the Dai Ninh Urban Area Project for Trade, Tourism and Ecological Resort (Duc Trong District), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Chief Inspector of Lam Dong, was previously arrested for the crime of Receiving Bribes.
Ms. Tran Bich Ngoc, Director of the Department of Monitoring Inspection, Handling of Complaints and Denunciations, Prevention and Combat of Corruption, Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Department I) of the Government Office, was accused of Abusing Position and Power while Performing Official Duty .
