In another development, at a fundraiser in Los Angeles, Vice President Kamala Harris on September 29 expressed optimism about her chances of winning against Mr. Trump in the presidential election in November, while emphasizing that the race is "tightly tied."

Harris raised nearly $190 million in August, more than four times the $44.5 million raised by former President Trump’s campaign.
