The Secretary General of the National Assembly said that, as a result of the vote of the National Assembly Standing Committee at today's meeting (February 5), the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 972/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the dismissal of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, a member of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province, from his duties as a deputy of the XVth National Assembly.
The above consideration and decision are based on the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; based on the Law on Organization of the National Assembly No. 57/2014/QH13, amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Law No. 65/2020/QH14; based on the Working Regulations of the National Assembly Standing Committee issued together with Resolution No. 29/2022/UBTVQH15 dated December 12, 2022 of the National Assembly Standing Committee; based on the opinion of the Politburo in Official Dispatch No. 9140-CV/VPTW dated January 31, 2024 of the Central Office of the Party on personnel work; Pursuant to the opinions of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Official Dispatch No. 7518/MTTW-DCT dated February 1, 2024, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province in Official Dispatch No. 1974/MTTQ-BTT dated February 1, 2024, the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa province in Official Dispatch No. 14/DDBQH dated February 1, 2024; considering the Application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly delegate of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh dated January 30, 2024 and Pursuant to Submission No. 16/TTr-BCTDB dated February 2, 2024 of the Delegation Work Committee.
On January 31, 2024, the 13th Party Central Committee considered and gave opinions on the wishes to resign from positions, retire from work and retire of Mr. Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member, member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission.
Mr. Tran Tuan Anh is a senior official of the Party and State, with basic training, trusted by the Party Central Committee and the Politburo to hold a number of important leadership positions. As Secretary of the Party Committee and Minister of Industry and Trade for the 2016-2021 term, he has made great efforts in directing and operating the work of the Industry and Trade sector, achieving important results.
However, Mr. Tran Tuan Anh bears the political responsibility of the leader when many violations occurred at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, many cadres and party members violated the law, were prosecuted criminally, and were subject to party and administrative disciplinary action. Fully aware of his responsibility to the Party and the People, he submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions, quit his job and retire.
Based on current regulations of the Party and State and considering the individual's wishes, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Tran Tuan Anh resign from his position as Politburo member and member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
