“Some people think this is China’s attempt to crush someone under them, but we don’t see it that way: we see only a desire for cooperation,” Putin was quoted as saying by Russia’s state news agency RIA.

China's unique point in building relations with other countries today is that "no one imposes or forces anything on anyone. They only create opportunities," Chinese state television quoted Mr. Putin as saying in Moscow.
“This is the difference between President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative and other projects pursued by countries with colonialist tendencies,” Putin said. The Russian president also said the Belt and Road Initiative is timely and is developing well.
Mr Putin is expected to attend the third Belt and Road Forum to be held in Beijing on October 17-18. He attended the previous two forums in 2017 and 2019.
BRI is a global energy and infrastructure network plan that China launched a decade ago to connect Asia with Africa and Europe via land and maritime routes.
