However, the biggest mark in her career is the role of Ngoc Mai in Saigon Special Forces. This character is a brave, fiery intelligence soldier with a proud and splendid beauty. She surpassed many strong candidates to get this role when she was only 28 years old.
As a classic film of Vietnamese cinema, Saigon Special Forces not only left a mark in the hearts of audiences but also left many deep memories with Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen.
She recalled the arduous but passionate days of filming: "In the past, our generation did not have much entertainment. Thanks to books and literary stories, I had an idea of the character's personality, so I could study the script and portray that role."

In Saigon Special Forces , she not only fully expressed the spirit of an intelligence soldier but also brought the image of a woman with inner depth.
When the script for episode 3 of the film included a scene in which the character Ngoc Mai wore seductive pajamas to deceive the enemy, she objected. She told the director that, in the painful and losing circumstances of war, revolutionary soldiers must overcome their petty desires to win and protect noble ideals.
She also said that when filming Saigon Special Forces, the costumes were also a challenge for her. The female artist revealed that the ao dai in the film were not provided by the film crew but she had to borrow them from artist Tham Thuy Hang.
In addition to Saigon Special Forces , Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen also participated in many famous works such as: Girl on the River, Sky Net, Disabled Beast, Street Theater Troupe ... Later, she continued to appear in TV series such as: Career Guidance, White Dollar, Time Leaves ... Her roles always left an impression thanks to her realistic and emotional acting.
In her prime, Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen was one of Vietnam's "screen beauties".
She stands shoulder to shoulder with legendary beauties such as: Chieu Xuan, Thu Ha... Although beauty is an advantage, she always believes that talent and passion are the most important factors in a career.
"Our generation is naturally beautiful, no one has done anything to fix it. Being an actor with natural beauty is a blessing. However, appearance is only a part of it, because no matter how beautiful you are, if you don't have natural talent or artistic talent, it's useless," the veteran artist shared.
U70 and peaceful life
After years of working on the screen, Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen chose a simple life. She retired in 2013 and is satisfied with her current life, no longer preoccupied with memories or nostalgia.
"Each stage in life has its own beauty. I used to shine on stage, now I enjoy simple joys every day," she confided to Dan Tri reporter.

Currently, she lives alone in a small house in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Despite many ups and downs in her marriage, she is still optimistic, happy and satisfied with life.
When asked if she needed a shoulder to lean on, she humorously said: "To be honest, right now I need a trustworthy maid, around 40-50 years old, to live with me, help me with housework and cooking.
Wherever I go, I will take her with me to distract her. But now, if you tell me to find a man to take care of and serve, I will clasp my hands and bow in respect.
Every day, she enjoys meeting friends, dancing, doing charity work and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She also pays special attention to her health and spirit. At the age of U70, few people have smooth white skin and a radiant face like her. Sharing the secret to preserving her youth, the female artist revealed: "When people see my skin like this, they think I spend money on spas and beauty treatments, but I have never been to a spa.
I have never thought about regretting my youthful beauty. Living a life filled with nostalgia is miserable. I am old, and I have the beauty of old age. I will keep as much as I can."
In addition, she also participates in many charity activities to bring joy to the less fortunate. Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen said that she has a pension that is enough to live on and does not have to worry about finances. "Thank God, I live a full life, my children are filial so they do not let me lack anything," she added.
At the age of nearly 70, Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen always believes that happiness is knowing how to accept and enjoy what you have. "My life now is leisurely mornings sipping coffee, afternoons dancing and weekends with my children and grandchildren. I don't want anything more than that," Meritorious Artist Ha Xuyen expressed.
