"Ukrainian forces have abandoned key positions near Kleshcheyevka, as well as heights in this area. Ukrainian units left after suffering heavy losses," the source said.

TASS sources also added that Ukrainian defense forces in this frontline area have "surrendered."

On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that during the day, the Russian military attacked Ukrainian military units and military equipment in 143 areas.

Northern Task Force attacks five Ukrainian brigades
