Chip maker Nvidia has just announced that the Switch 2 handheld game device from Japanese game maker Nintendo will have 10 times more graphics processing power than its predecessor, the Switch. Nvidia is the main chip manufacturing partner for Nintendo.
In a new post on Nvidia's official blog, the chip giant confirmed its involvement in developing hardware for the Switch 2 and provided information about the product's graphics capabilities.
According to Nvidia, the Switch 2 will have sharper visuals with 10 times the graphics performance.
The 10x performance increase is a huge step up from the gap between the Wii U and the previous Switch generation, so gamers can have a more enjoyable experience when using the Switch 2.
Nvidia's announcement reinforces previous rumors about the Switch 2's hardware configuration. It is predicted that the product may use a custom chip based on Nvidia's powerful Tegra T239 architecture, which is capable of outperforming even the PlayStation 4. In addition, the RAM capacity is also predicted to be up to 12 GB.
But Nintendo has yet to announce details about the Switch 2's specifications. According to plan, Switch 2 will officially reach fans around June 2025.
The fact that popular games with high hardware requirements such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring have been confirmed to be available on this platform makes the gaming community even more eager to wait for Switch 2./.
