Defendant Ha Thi Thi
Thi is a contract employee of Chu Van Thinh High School, the suspect who put pesticides in the food of students at the school.
Initially, Son La Provincial Police determined that Thi was assigned to cook for boarding students at the school. Due to dissatisfaction with the school's choice of a food supplier that did not ensure quality and suspicion of collusion to reduce the students' food rations, Thi came up with the idea of putting pesticides and cockroach killers in the students' food, causing them to be poisoned, forcing the school to change food suppliers.
The bottle of pesticide and 2 packets of cockroach killer were mixed into the students' food.
After buying 2 packets of cockroach killer and 1 bottle of pesticide and bringing them to school to wait for the right moment, on September 22, when the kitchen staff was peeling the chayote to prepare food for the students, Thi realized this was an opportunity to mix pesticides and cockroach killer into the pot of boiled chayote.
