On the morning of May 23, the Ceremony to Announce the Decision to Appoint People's Artist Quoc Hung as Deputy Director of the Academy took place at the National Academy of Music. Accordingly, People's Artist Quoc Hung will assume this new role starting from May 2023. Previously, the male artist assumed the role of Head of the Vocal Department from June 2018.

Artist Quoc Hung was born in 1970 in Hanoi. He studied Cheo for 3 years and then worked at the Hanoi Cheo Troupe before studying opera at the Vietnam National Academy of Music under the encouragement of People's Artist Quy Duong.
In 2000, he won the First Prize of the Second National Chamber Music Competition, and in 2004, he won the Golden Cup of the Pyongyang Spring International Music Festival. With a voice considered "special", he was invited by the Hanover Opera House to stay as an artist, but he said he only served the country. In 2017, Quoc Hung became a doctor and head of the vocal department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
