Recently, fake passport websites have been continuously appearing. In many forms, these subjects can easily steal personal information, from which bad subjects can use it to commit illegal acts in cyberspace.

Specifically, understanding the needs of people who are afraid of cumbersome procedures when applying for a passport; some people are not familiar with the procedures for applying for a passport online on the Public Service Portal, the subjects have set up fake websites advertising the service of "applying for a passport online" attracting thousands of interested people.

With attractive advertisements such as: passport making has never been easier; documents are sent to your home, you only need to provide information and photo files; no need to queue, no jostling; receive passport making online in 63 provinces and cities. In addition, on social networks, the subject will also create groups called "Fast passport making service", "Fast and cheap passport making in Hanoi", "Fast Passport (Passport) Visa - Vietnam Immigration",... with costs many times higher than the fees prescribed by the State.

Some bad guys also take advantage of this to steal personal information such as: portrait photos, citizen identification cards, phone numbers, emails, permanent addresses, OTP codes, etc. to commit other illegal acts on the internet. Then use this account to fraudulently borrow money from relatives and friends, and steal all personal residence information of many people in the VNeID application.

Faced with the current fraud situation, the Information Security Department has recommended that people should submit their passport applications online on the National Public Service Portal or the Ministry of Public Security's Public Service Portal.

In case of not being able to submit the application, people can ask relatives, friends, acquaintances, reputable people, knowledgeable about information technology or go directly to the local police station for specific and detailed instructions. Absolutely do not provide personal information, do not use "online services" on social networks. Do not access strange links or download applications of unknown origin.

When encountering cases with signs of fraud, people need to contact the police to promptly resolve the case according to regulations.
