Cassava crop year 2025-2026, Muong Lat district maintains an area of ​​3,000 hectares

In the 2024-2025 cassava crop year, the total cassava growing area in Muong Lat district reached 3,062.91/3,000 hectares, reaching 102.1% of the plan. The yield reached 20.11 tons/ha, the output was about 60,000 tons. The total value of cassava raw materials in the district is estimated at about 80 billion VND. As of March 27, the whole district had harvested 2,909.76 hectares, reaching 95% of the planted area. It is expected to complete the cassava raw material harvesting by the end of March 2025.

During the season, Phuc Thinh Agricultural and Forestry Products and Agricultural Materials Processing Joint Stock Company (Ngoc Lac) has linked and purchased products from people in 6 communes and towns with an area of ​​1,500 hectares of raw cassava.

In 2024, the whole district planted 394.3 ha/200 ha of forest, reaching 197% of the plan. Currently, the planted forest area is being actively cared for and developed by management units and people. In forest protection, the District People's Committee has issued directive documents and synchronously and drastically implemented solutions for fire prevention and fighting and protecting existing forest areas according to the four-on-the-spot motto.

In the 2025-2026 cassava crop year, Muong Lat district will maintain a stable cassava growing area of ​​3,000 hectares, with an average yield of 20 quintals/hectare and an output of 60,000 tons. The area of ​​production and product consumption linkage with Phuc Thinh Agricultural and Forestry Products Processing and Materials Joint Stock Company (Ngoc Lac) and related enterprises with households and groups of households is 2,500 hectares, accounting for 83.3% of the area. In afforestation, the whole district strives to plant 663.33 hectares.

To achieve that goal, the district is actively promoting and raising awareness for people to participate in developing cassava growing areas associated with product consumption linkages. At the same time, reviewing land use plans to build concentrated cassava growing areas suitable to land conditions and cultivation terrain according to the advantages of each locality and reviewing and re-planning cassava growing areas to limit encroachment on forest land.

Build models, train and transfer scientific and technical advances into production and intensive cultivation of cassava. Along with that, focus on guiding and propagating to raise the role and awareness of people in afforestation, forest development, protection and forest fire prevention and fighting.

Review the total area of ​​land eligible for afforestation in the district that has not been included in the 2024 afforestation design, to include in the 2025 afforestation plan.

Mobilize capital to implement afforestation from socialized capital sources; implement policies and mechanisms to support planting and care for people participating in afforestation from alternative forestation capital sources.
