Chien Thang Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative, directed by Ms. Dang Thi Luan, currently owns 2 OCOP products.

Born in the land of seafood fishing, from a woman who made traditional fish sauce and only sold it to local people, up to now, Ms. Dang Thi Luan - Director of Chien Thang Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative (Ky Ninh Commune, Ky Anh Town) has brought Ky Anh's sea specialties to the international market with the brand name Luan Nghiep fish sauce.

Director Dang Thi Luan shared: “In 2016, I founded the Chien Thang Seafood Purchasing and Processing Cooperative, but soon after that, a marine environmental incident occurred, so the Cooperative had to temporarily stop operating. Undaunted, in 2018, I was determined to revive the Cooperative and in 2019, we successfully built a 3-star OCOP fish sauce brand. By 2020, Luan Nghiep fish sauce was upgraded to 4-star OCOP. Currently, the Cooperative has 4 3-star and 4-star OCOP products including: fish sauce, salted anchovies with peanuts, shrimp paste, and instant jellyfish. In addition to domestic consumption, the Cooperative's fish sauce has recently been officially exported to the Russian Federation. The most honorable thing is that the Cooperative has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for its outstanding achievements in implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program for the period 2018 - 2020”.

Hoa Hao Food Processing Facility (Pho Chau Town, Huong Son) owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa specializes in producing dried pork floss, dried beef, meat steamed with shrimp paste, dried chicken with lemon leaves, etc. Although she is 64 years old this year, Ms. Hoa still regularly participates in trade promotion fairs in provinces and cities to seek opportunities to develop markets for her facility's products.

It is known that Ms. Hoa started making shredded pork and dried beef for sale around 1993, when she was a clerk at Son Diem Primary School. Since 2012, she retired and started producing large quantities to supply the market. In 2020, Ms. Hoa decided to invest in equipment, expand the facility, and increase the scale of production to participate in the OCOP program. By the end of the year, the facility's shredded pork and dried beef products met 3-star standards.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa participated in the trade promotion fair in Hanoi at the end of 2022.

"At first, I made floss and dried beef to sell to improve my income because my clerical salary was not enough to cover expenses. Now, this job has brought in the main income for my family. Thanks to meeting OCOP standards, ensuring quality, and creating prestige in the market, the product consumption is quite good. Currently, on average, each month the facility uses nearly 5 tons of pork and more than 3 tons of beef for production," Ms. Hoa shared.

After more than 30 years of being a dried seafood dealer, in 2020, participating in the OCOP program, Ms. Pham Thi Hoa (Cuong Gian commune, Nghi Xuan) converted her facility into the Hoa Linh Chi Seafood Processing and Trading Cooperative Group. In October 2021, she continued to upgrade her facility into a cooperative with 11 members.

Currently, dried shrimp is in the process of being upgraded to 4-star OCOP. The OCOP program has brought us a lot of value, trusted by consumers, the products are supplied to many agents in provinces and cities, and especially "carry" by many local people abroad. It is estimated that the revenue of the Cooperative after the product is awarded the OCOP star has doubled compared to before, with seasonal workers at peak times reaching 15-20 people. Thanks to good product consumption, the Cooperative annually purchases about 20 tons of fresh shrimp, 5 tons of fresh anchovies, and 7 tons of fresh squid from fishermen in the province”.
