The comprehensive farm of Mr. Ha Thinh Hung's family, Nga An commune (Nga Son) has an area of 1.6 hectares, planned into 2 areas for livestock and crop production applying high technology (CNC) in a greenhouse, with a fish pond in the middle.
Fruit trees are planted along the path leading to the livestock area of Mr. Ha Thinh Hung, Nga An commune (Nga Son).
In the entrance to the area where fruit trees are grown such as grapefruit, coconut, jackfruit, etc., Mr. Hung said: "On the area of 1.6 hectares of agricultural land of my family and land bought from surrounding households, I have planned and invested in building 5,500m2 of net houses to grow fruit trees (3,500m2 of cantaloupe and 2,000m2 of Korean milk grapes); dug 2 fish ponds, each pond is 1,000m2, the remaining area is used to build 2 barns to raise more than 1,000 pigs/batch and 50 breeding sows".
Due to large-scale livestock farming, in order to safely and hygienically treat waste, Mr. Hung has built a biogas system. All livestock waste, about 20 tons/year, is transferred to the biogas tank for incubation, then pumped to settling ponds, mixed with biological products, and continued to be incubated to become organic fertilizer. This source of fertilizer is used by Mr. Hung to take care of all the crops on the farm, both improving the soil and not polluting the environment.
Thanks to the implementation of a closed, circular process in the production process, Mr. Hung's family not only makes the most of the by-products in production, saves production costs, increases income value, but also fully utilizes all waste in the production process, not releasing it into the environment. In particular, because the products are always of guaranteed quality, clean and safe, the entire area of melons, grapes and many other fruit trees is well received by consumers, contributing to the family's profit from farming and raising animals from 700 - 800 million VND/year.
The fruit tree farm combined with livestock farming of Mr. Do Van Hoan in Cam Tan commune (Cam Thuy) also brings high income thanks to the successful application of organic agricultural production processes, circular waste-free. Mr. Hoan said: "On an area of 5 hectares of land rented from households in the village, I have invested in building pig farms in the form of association, with a scale of 1,000 pigs/batch, 50 beef cows and hundreds of chickens and geese. At the same time, I planted 2,000 Thai jackfruit trees, coconut trees, oranges and various vegetables".
To develop the farm in a circular, closed model and bring about effective income, Mr. Hoan uses livestock waste combined with by-products from farming to raise earthworms, taking earthworms to raise chickens, geese and earthworm manure to fertilize plants in the garden. Thanks to the implementation of a circular, closed process, production costs have been saved, no need to buy animal feed and fertilizer for plants. On the contrary, the market is also supplied with 1 - 2 tons of earthworm seeds and 15 tons of earthworm manure per year. In particular, because the products are cared for in an organic direction, ensuring quality, cleanliness and safety, they are well received by consumers, contributing to bringing Mr. Hoan's family a profit of about 300 million VND per year.
According to the Thanh Hoa Gardening and Farming Association, there are currently about 200 farms out of 1,505 farms in the province that produce in a closed-loop manner. These farms are currently generating an average income of several hundred million to billions of VND per year. In addition to bringing income value to farm owners, the circular farm model also contributes to creating a closed ecosystem, which is the right direction in the context of high prices of agricultural materials and animal feed, helping producers reduce input costs and improve economic efficiency. At the same time, it contributes to reducing environmental pollution and creating safe products for consumers' health.
