Recently, the Confrontation Round of the Green Voice Debate Competition season 2 took place with great excitement, gathering 120 excellent teams from all over the country. After 3 challenging rounds, the persistent efforts helped the teams overcome their own limits and gradually bring their green ideas from paper to the real world.
Shorten the distance, expand the future
Overcoming geographical distance, Pham Quynh Anh (Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An) and Tu Minh Anh (Greenfield School, Hung Yen) connected with each other to build a green tourism project thanks to their love for the environment and their desire to live green.
“We all share a love of traveling, especially interested in creating our own tourism models,” Quynh Anh shared.

However, the negative impacts of tourism activities, such as plastic waste, have always been a concern for the two contestants. From that meeting, Quynh Anh and Minh Anh together hatched the idea of sustainable tourism products and brought them to Green Voice season 2 with the hope of realizing and replicating them in reality.
“The Green Voice Contest not only helps us shorten the distance but also opens up opportunities to connect with peers, together finding solutions to common community problems,” Minh Anh shared.
If Quynh Anh and Minh Anh's journey is a connection that overcomes all barriers of distance, Hoang Tra My (Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Nghe An) brings a story of overcoming adversity, determined not to give up on her goal despite being injured and hospitalized. Accompanying her teammate Ha Thi Hien Anh, the two came up with the idea of a smart trash can integrated with AI to help identify and classify trash.
“We chose the green education field because it will directly impact students' awareness, bringing long-term sustainable values,” Tra My shared the reason for choosing and implementing the idea.
The spectacular comeback
The Green Voice debate contest season 2 is not only a playground for promising new faces but also witnesses the determined return of former contestants.
Having participated in the first season but had to stop early, Thai Thi Yen Ni and Mai Tang Phat Tai (Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted, Tra Vinh) still kept their enthusiasm and prepared for 3 months. The two contestants continuously practiced and worked in groups in online meetings that lasted until late at night.
“Although last season left us with many regrets, we have learned a lot of lessons. This time, we are determined to go deeper into the next round,” Tai said.
EcoEats team includes Le Bao Khanh and Nguyen Ly Nha Ky from Phu Yen
Similarly, Le Bao Khanh of the EcoEats team (Luong Van Chanh High School for the Gifted, Phu Yen) also had to stop early last season. According to Khanh, the reason stemmed from a lack of confidence and inadequate preparation.
Although the results were not as expected, the success of another team from the same school that was awarded second prize in the first season of the competition became a great motivation for Khanh to return to the "race".
Memorable emotions
“Emotional roller coaster” is the phrase Nguyen Quang Minh from the Lozia nutriboost team (Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, Hai Phong) used to describe the journey to the Confrontation Round.
Recalling the tense moments of practicing with teammate Hoang Nguyen Thuy Tien, Quang Minh said that the two divided the presentation into 10 small parts, applied the strategy of "completing each step" and practiced continuously for 4 hours before feeling satisfied.

Although he had participated in many competitions before, for Quang Minh, the debate and eloquence format of Voice of Green was still a new challenge. At first, Minh admitted that he was quite worried, his emotions “went up and down constantly” because he was afraid that he would not be able to fully demonstrate his abilities. However, the success in the first round gave this male student more confidence to advance to the final Competition Round.
The feeling of tension mixed with excitement and finally relief after completing the exam well was also the feeling of Dao Phuong Anh from the Verdant Sun team (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted). With the same idea of extracting SiO2 from rice husk ash to produce semiconductors, Phuong Anh and her teammate Nguyen Viet Nhat Minh (High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) searched for research articles on Google Scholar to delve deeper into this topic.
Not only is it a playground for knowledge, Green Voice also opens the door for young people to affirm their thinking, creativity and sense of responsibility for the environment. After 3 rounds of competition, what left the deepest impression was the enthusiasm that the contestants brought in season 2.
Team VINORA presented their idea on the topic of Green Mobility in the Confrontation round.
“Even though we were competitors, you guys were always polite, showed a spirit of learning and fair competition. It was that friendly atmosphere that helped me reduce stress and feel more confident when presenting my performance,” Nguyen Mai Ngoc Anh – VINORA team (Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, Dong Nai) shared.
Le Minh Anh, Seaweed team (Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Dong Hoi - Quang Binh) also said that participating in a national-scale and professionally organized competition like Green Voice is an extremely valuable opportunity.
The contestant from Quang Binh province compared the journey to the adventure of conquering. Each round is a step for the contestant to discover his or her own abilities.
After the Confrontation Round, the 16 best teams will enter the Competition Round, taking place at VinUni University on January 18 and 19, 2025, continuing the journey to conquer and spread the message of green living and creativity for a sustainable future.
