The "Waking up with the golden season" bus connects people
From the challenges of nature
Although agricultural land accounts for about 85% of the country's land area, apart from some fertile areas such as the Red River Delta and the Mekong River Delta, the Southeast and the Central Highlands, the remaining cultivated areas of Vietnam have low quality soil. Some areas are naturally barren, acidic, saline or degraded.
Especially in the mountainous areas of the North, the soil is severely degraded or eroded, making it difficult to develop agriculture while creating stable economic value.
In addition to the characteristics of soil quality, the climate in Vietnam also has many disadvantages in the northern provinces due to the monsoon factor changing throughout the year, causing crops to be frequently affected and severely damaged. In addition, because crop development is clearly affected by the season, farmers also face many difficulties in harvesting agricultural products.
To good farming solutions
To overcome the challenges of nature, many talented farmers have had effective farming initiatives and applications to successfully “awaken” sustainable golden seasons in areas with many difficulties. A series of farming stories have been developed and broadcast in the program “Awakening with the Golden Season” by Ca Mau Fertilizer in collaboration with VTV.
Each episode is a successful farming model of a good farmer, with advice from reputable experts and the attention of millions of people on television.
In the broadcasts of the "Waking up with the golden season" bus in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, Yen Thuy Safe Agricultural Products Cooperative (Huu Loi commune, Yen Thuy district, Hoa Binh province) is a special stop because this place has a high concentration of Muong people.
To cope with harsh climates, pests and natural disasters, the cooperative has used greenhouse technology and current techniques including automatic irrigation - seeding, soil preparation, and timely harvesting.
Thanks to proactively applying good solutions to increase economic value, Huu Loi commune is one of the bright spots of Yen Thuy district in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
NPK Ca Mau is a fertilizer line trusted by many farmers.
Another impressive stop on the “Waking up with the Golden Season” tour in the Northern region is Chi Lang district, Lang Son province. This is a locality with limestone mountainous terrain and neutral pH, making it difficult to choose suitable specialized crop varieties.
However, thanks to their diligence in finding solutions, Chi Lang people have discovered a custard apple variety that is suitable for the specific soil conditions here. Thanks to that, Chi Lang custard apples have a delicious taste and high nutritional value. Previously, custard apples ripened concentratedly within 1 month, creating great pressure on farmers to sell.
Thanks to the initiative of pruning branches, pruning fruits and intercropping in parallel with using wires to shape custard apple branches and proper nutritional fertilization methods, custard apple harvest time has been extended, increasing economic value and bringing in favorable income.
A series of good farming solutions from good farmers are being broadcast on the program “Waking up with the golden season” every Sunday at 5:40 am. With the participation of prestigious experts and the attention of many people nationwide, this is a useful program, contributing to the sustainable and prosperous development of agriculture.
